A celebration of poetry, song and classical music. The story follows a family from playtime to dreamtime as they journey through the nursery, the park, the streets of Olde London and then off to bed. A rich variety of great classical lullabies, rounds for family singing and traditional English songs as well as pieces from the Leider, Romantic Opera and Classical Orchestral traditions are featured.
Excerpts from Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Vivaldi, Schubert, Pachelbel and Tchaikovsky are woven into a colorful musical collage with classic poetry from three centuries - William Blake (1700s), Eugene Fields (1800s) and Dennis Lee (1900s) - with poems written and performed by today's children.
